The pianist Maria Radutu and I created PHOENIX - an interdisciplinary album and project, consisting of 12 carefully picked and intertwining pieces by Chopin, Say, Bartok, Liszt, Gluck, Gershwin, and more. Romantic, folk, and world music inspired pieces make up the opening of PHOENIX; with strong emotions,while Liszt's Mephisto Waltz makes up the centre of the project. The diverse approaches in telling the story of PHOENIX are connected by the four main building blocks of the story: simplicity, tradition, rebirth, and sovereignty.
